Our Results


Last year Results First guided 18,340 students in nine New York state school districts toward greater success. Here are some representative results that our districts have achieved.

  • Graduation rate - Multiple districts have increased the graduation rate by as much as 16%, and several have led their respective counties with the highest graduation percentage. Some districts graduated all students who were present in the school at the beginning of senior year.

  • Reading at or above grade level - The districts we work with typically move at least 5% more students to reading at grade level when compared with the same point during the previous year. The highest one year gain realized was 15%.

  • Regents results - Several districts have increased the average passing rate across all Regents exams by 10% and one doubled the average mastery rate compared to where they were prior to working with us.

  • Reduction in course failures - The reduction in middle and high school course failures that districts achieve is usually the quickest, most dramatic result. Our districts average a 20% reduction in courses failed. Several have cut the failure rate in half while maintaining or increasing the grading rigor.

  • Regional newspaper ratings - A number of newspapers in regions of the state use their own formulas to rate and compare districts. One of the original districts we worked with eight years ago has moved from 64th place to 21st. Another moved from 43rd to 24th during the two years that we worked together.
